Aurora Health Care to Present St. Croix’s Asset Management Solutions at AAMI 2008

St. Croix's Asset Manager, Service Center Manager™ and the new asset disposition system to be featured in two presentations by Aurora Health Care

San Jose, CA - May 30, 2008 — Aurora Health Care, a leading health care system with 13 hospitals and over 100 clinics, announced that it will be making two presentations at this year's AAMI conference in San Jose, which will feature three of St. Croix's software modules.

The two presentations, Developing and Implementing a Management Program for Used Medical Equipment: A Case Study and Enhancing Your Department's Performance: From Implementing a Zone Service Model to Planning Efficient Space, discuss advanced enterprise asset management topics such as value recovery from used equipment and implementing service centers to improve productivity and customer satisfaction. At the center of both of these initiatives are software solutions developed through a collaborative effort between Aurora and St. Croix.

The featured products include:

  • Asset Manager 4: Award winning enterprise asset management and CMMS software, the most powerful and feature-rich healthcare asset management product
  • Service Center Manager: Enterprise call center, request and dispatch management application for centralizing support service requests across facilities, departments and vendors.
  • Asset Disposition Manager: Internet and intranet portals for management of the disposition of used assets, including reuse, sale, donation, "parting out" or disposal.

The St. Croix Asset Management software modules are fully integrated and give Aurora the ability to centrally manage the complete life cycle of equipment from acquisition to disposition. St. Croix's unique database structure provides a platform from which Aurora's capital management team can access real-time asset and operations data across users, departments and facilities.

"At St. Croix, we provide the foundation for comprehensive, enterprise-wide asset management. Collaborating with leading thinkers like Aurora helps to keep us at the front of the healthcare enterprise asset management market," said Hank Goddard, CEO of St. Croix Systems. "We have been working with Pat Trim and his team for years and appreciate their insight into effective ways for healthcare providers maximize the return of their asset base. We are excited about bringing another best-in-class asset management solution to our clients."

Donna Babcock, Aurora Health Care
Alan Gresch, Aurora Health Care
Jerry Krueger, Aurora Health Care
Ray Ongirski, Aurora Health Care
Patrick Trim, Aurora Health Care
Getting rid of unnecessary or outdated medical devices is not as simple as scheduling a trash pick-up. Panelists will outline how to set up an Asset Investment Recovery (AIR) program using a cradle-to-grave approach that maximizes the remaining value of unused or underutilized medical equipment. Options that will be examined include restoring or repairing, reallocating to other facilities, donating, selling, or harvesting a medical device's parts.

10:00 AM - 11:15 AM Enhancing Your Department's Performance: From Implementing a Zone Service Model to Planning Efficient Space
Alan Gresch, , Kaiser Permanente
Duane Mariotti, Aurora Health Care
Richard Netwal, Aurora Health Care
Patrick Trim, Aurora Health Care
It's no surprise that maximizing the performance of your department is always on your mind. This session will provide you with a look at two methods to help you reach your performance goals. First, panelists will discuss a process for developing an "in-house zone" service model for repairing and maintaining biomedical and imaging equipment — including tips on assessing response times, staffing, technology, and transportation. Second, they will describe a method for designing a biomed shop that incorporates the scope of work for which you, your staff, and your colleagues are responsible. In addition, they will help you make the most out of the space you have, while you are waiting for the construction of a new facility or if you need to maintain your current one.
